Experience
  • Licensed PACE & Master The Code Provider
Attended and passed training seminar in November of 2002, and became a licensed provider for the PACE Cognitive Enhancement Program, as well as, Master The Code, a phoneme based reading program
  • Licensed FastForWord Provider
Received training to become a provider for FastForWord, a computer based reading program
  • Teacher/Director
Creative Learning opened in May of 2002, and has been a great success for the children enrolled
  • Saint Bartholomew's Parochial School; Scotch Plains, New Jersey
    Teacher 2001

Took over a 1st grade class re-organized the teaching method currently being used, so as to maximize the educational advancement of each student in the class. Broke children up into groups and worked with them individually to strengthen their personal skills, inspired cooperative learning and group discussions. I used the my own method, Creative Learning, to encourage and help each child to see their individual potential and increase their interest in personal success and self-confidence
  • L-3 Communications; Santa Maria, California
    Programmer Analyst 1999 - 2002

Develop and enhance LaunchCast, a windows application allowing remote launch support facilities to monitor launch operations via the internet or a private intranet. Enhance, test, debug and document L-3's C++ library. Created and maintain the Website for LaunchCast (located on the GWAN). Created the DHTML Help System that will be included with the new LaunchCast release. Created a method to auto generate a DHTML Website for the L-3 intranet (through Rational Rose) that supplies all necessary information to the in-house programmers about classes and structures currently in the L-3 library. I also enabled us to export/import all of the required information for the old undocumented data in the library using Rose's scripting language so that it could be added to the website. Worked on the extend-ability of Rational Rose to customize the software to the specific needs of our software development department
  • University of California at Santa Barbara
    Researcher 1999 - 2000

Researched and analyzed various methods of performing out-of-core sorting on a forty-two node Linux based workstation cluster at UCSB. I utilized MPI 1.1, MPI 2.0 I/O (MPICH 1.1.2) and C Programming. I analyzed the performance of each aspect of the applications on an individual basis (initialization, transfer of data, busing, constraining local memory size), something obviously not possible on SMP machines. This began my interest in OEMs (Mathematica via MathLink), as well as, customizing software based on its intended use (Linux, Rational Rose, et cetera)
  • Rational Rose Model Checker
    BETA Tester 1999 - 2000

I was a lead tester of the Ration Rose Model Checker for Rational Software. I detected bugs in the software, made suggests as to format of the widows, navigation and help system. Due to my suggestions there were many changes, additions and improvements made to the software in each of its four Beta releases
  • California Polytechnic State University
    Mathematics Course Lecturer 1998 - 1999

Determined the class schedule and grading policy, organized and delivered lectures, created exams, and determined final grades for the 53 students who were in my class
  • Economics Department; California Polytechnic State University
    Analyst 1997 - 1998

Analyzed the current methods used to determine child support in different states. Determined the formula (of best fit) for the states that use data entry points. For states that used formulas, particular attention was paid to critical points at which there were often extraneous results. Generated a formula that adheres to all Federal Guidelines, and had consistent results at all critical points. Utilizing Mathematica and Lotus, analyzed the level of variation between state child support awards both graphically and numerically. Submitted a draft of research and findings to the U.S. Congress.Analyst: In cooperation with the Economics Department at Cal Poly

  • Mathematics Department; California Polytechnic State University
    Analyst 1998 - 1998

Researched and analyzed the performance of students required to partake in the remedial mathematics program upon entering Cal Poly. Analyzed the success of the remedial program through an in-depth comparison of students in higher mathematics classes (some of whom had been in the remedial program, and some of whom had not). Presented findings to the department chairman in the form of a written report, as well as, a graphical analysis, along with suggestions for improvement in the remedial program
  • California Polytechnic State University
    Personal Tutor 1992 - 1999

Tutoring college level mathematics, computer science/programming, chemistry and physics. Preparing people for the CBEST, SAT, AP, AB, GRE and GED
